    What is the best time of day to exercise?

    Exercise is beneficial no matter what time of day you choose to workout. Being consistent is key– choose a time of day that fits with your schedule and make it a routine habit. Your body can adapt to your schedule and learn to be most efficient during those times. Morning workouts help jumpstart your metabolism, so you burn more calories during the day, plus you’ll have a boost of energy from the surge of endorphins. Getting your workout done first thing will also prevent unexpected interruptions throughout your session, therefore creating a consistent exercise habit.

    Afternoon/evening workouts will also have these similar benefits, such as boosting your metabolism and release endorphins, but will take effect later in the day. Make sure to exercise following Canada’s recommend PA guidelines of at least 150-minutes per week or based on your physicians’ recommendations if you have specific health restrictions. Ensure you have a proper warmup, with at least 10-minute exercise sessions, and follow a healthy diet throughout the day to assist you in achieving all your exercise goals.
