Oven-Baked Calamari Rings
Who thought Oven-baked calamari could be this delicious? It’s simple and oh so good! Not to mention – good for you!

Yield: 6 servings, about 5-7 rings depending on their size
- 1 lb. frozen calamari rings
- ½ cup farina-type cereal
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 4 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 2 egg whites
Defrost, rinse and thoroughly dry the calamari rings with a paper towel, squeezing a bit to remove as much water as possible. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a small bowl, combine the farina cereal, garlic powder, paprika, and Italian seasoning, and mix well. In a separate bowl, gently whisk the egg whites. Add the calamari rings to the egg whites and toss to coat well. Individually dip each ring into the cereal-spice mix and shake off any excess. Place on a sheet pan in a single layer. Bake for 20 minutes, turning once halfway through baking.
