When it comes to being active, most people fall short of doing what it takes to be healthy. The average adult logs just 5,000 to 6,000 steps per day. That’s well under the 10,000 daily steps many health professionals recommend. Walking this amount has been proven to boost physical and mental health and help maintain a healthy weight.

How do you reach that goal? Simply follow the schedule on this page. At the end of the first week you will log 4,500 steps. The second week you take 7,500 steps. At the end of week 3 you’ll log 8,500 and by the end of week 4 you will take 10,000 steps. You are well on your way to a healthier lifestyle then. Do you want to know exactly how many steps you take? A pedometer or Fitbit can give you a more accurate count and help you keep motivated.
